Breeders' Cup to be at Santa Anita next year: report

SARATOGA SPRINGS - According to a report on the Daily Racing Form website, Santa Anita has been chosen as the site of next year's Breeders' Cup.

That will be the fourth time in six years Santa Anita will host the Breeders' Cup, which will be run there this year on Nov. 2-3. The Cup was also held at Santa Anita in 2008-2009.

Last summer, Belmont Park was said to be the front-runner for the 2013 Breeders' Cup, but turmoil at the New York Racing Association, which has recently been taken over by the state, put the kibosh on that idea.
