Alicia Keys gave fans a couple nuggets of goodness last night as she not only introduced the world to five of her favorite new and not so new (read: two of them are Grammy nominated) musicians but also let the world watch live online.
Alicia performed at the Apollo Theatre -- sponsored and streamed live by www.billboardlive.com -- in a stone-smattered black dress and a loose puffy-like pony. Coming on and off stage like some sort of Ryan Seacrest in training, she gave the packed house a taste of who she thinks has the chops to own the R & B scene in 2010. Among the five who sang, including Hope, Jermaine Paul and Marsha Ambrosius of Floetry, was a new diamond of brilliance named Elle Varner.
Take a look at some of the on-stage action from last night's concert and keep an eye out on PopWrap for a lot more about Elle in the coming weeks. And yes, Alicia sang "Empire State of Mind." And yes, it was amazing.
