It shouldn't come as any surprise that I'm a card carrying member of the "I only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials" club. Despite this year's mostly meh ads, four promos got us to cut the chatter and actually listen up. So, naturally, I want to rank them because I like the kids on "Sesame Street," I like putting numbers next to things!
No. 4: Budwiser gets "Lost"
The ad never came out and said, "look, it's 'Lost,'" but from the rainbow collection of characters to the beachfront crash site, this commercial for Bud Light clearly played off our enthusiasm for the final season of the island drama.
No. 3: Most awkward party ever
Oprah's presence makes any party a killer invite ... even when she's flanked by Jay Leno and David Letterman. Sadly, her signature bellowing announcements -- "We've got more Doritoooooooooos" -- didn't RSVP.
No. 2: Autotune time
Bud Light came away the night's big winner, snagging two of the Super Bowl's best commercials. Their autotune jam -- featuring remix king T-Pain -- was straight up funny.
No 1: Betty White will rock you
Watching Betty White get roughed up was just a set up to have the octogenarian dish out some mama jokes before turning back into a frat boy thanks to a reenergizing Snickers bar. But here's my question for the candy company: Shouldn't the upside of eating your product be turning into Betty White?
What was your favorite commercial?
