We've got a little less than 22 days until "Glee" returns to Fox, bringing songs, sass and Santana back into our lives. And now we're gotten a first look at the season premiere, titled "Audition."
The hour will reportedly revolve around Mr. Schue's search for more glee clubbers, resulting in the additions of Sunshine (played by Filipino singing sensation Charice), a rival for Finn in football playing singer Sam and the potential loss of a few familiar faces.
According to several of the cast members, Schue forces the kids who made it to Regionals last year to re-audition, meaning one or more of New Directions might be old news by the end of the hour. Although I wouldn't expect them to go too far...
Also joining the show in season two is Dot Jones as Coach Beiste (subtle guys) the new football impresario who also serves as a legitimate enemy for Sue Sylvester. "In the beginning, Sue is a little threatened by the new football coach, who is a 6'4" woman," Jane Lynch tells TVGuide.com. "She and Schuester band together to destroy her. She tries to be the new Sue, but she's very vulnerable and I know her weak spot. I find it, exploit it, and destroy her as best I can."
As for what else you can expect from Sue in season two, I wouldn't put it past "Glee" to eventually expose her season finale choice at Regionals but what we definitely know is that Sue's mother will return to Ohio ... and that she will be played by TV icon Carol Burnett!
Whether or not her character turns out to actually be a Nazi-hunter, as Sue implied in a previous episode remains to be seen. As do the songs that get "Glee"ized in the season premiere, although it's rumored Puck croons "Goodbye My Lover" to Quinn once The Cheerios reabsorb her, Will sings "Come Back To Me," Finn duets with Rachel on "Open Your Eyes To Love" & the group performs "Tubthumping" and (cue epic episode ending hand thrust to the sky) "Don't Stop Me Now!"
