I was intrigued by "I Am Number Four" from the moment I found out that Alex Pettyfer, Dianna Agron and Timothy Olyphant had been case in the alien action-adventure. Then the first trailer dropped and my excitement was rewarded with a bold backstory and extravagant special effects, which promised some seriously eye popping fight scenes.
But last week I learned something quite unexpected about the film and the new facts kept on flowing today with the release of a brand new featurette.
A New York Magazine article from last month revealed (to me, at least) that the film was based on a novel written by James "A Million Little Pieces" Frey and Jobie Hughes through Full Fathom Five, a very strange fiction factory.
But the pair didn't tackle the screenplay -- that task fell to, as I learned from the new featurette, "Smallville" creators Alfred Gough, Miles Millar and "Buffy" demigod Marti Noxon. I mean ... sold!
And if that wasn't enough to get my ass in a chair, the final piece of the puzzle involves the casting of Beau Mirchoff, who I spent a wee bit o' time gushing over during the Drea DeMatteo season of "Desperate Housewives."
So click play on the very informative and exciting featurette for "I Am Number Four," one of PopWrap's Most Anticipated Movies of 2011!
