With a sound as different as that smelly kid in Algebra class, Mika is back with two new songs from his upcoming EP "Songs for Sorrow."
Even though the title of his sophomore return gives hints that this album may be a little less fun and fancy free, I don't seem to care. Take a listen to both of them after the jump, and judge for yourself.
"Lonely Alcoholic" tells a story that gives Mika's unique voice a stage to transcend on. Each verse is packed with more description and character than the last. At one point he calls himself a "mediocre writer" of which I do not agree, but hey modestly sells records, touche Mika. As the song reaches it's build MIka brings in his classic layered chorus of emotion and style.
"Lady Jane" is a fairytale track, and the better of the two in my book. One thing this guy can do is paint fantasy better than Sherwin Williams. With hints of Elton John around ever corner this puppy is sure to become one of his cult classics.
