Unless you're reading this from your high school computer lab, you're well aware that music videos used to be a huge deal. Michael Jackson's video extravaganza ("Scream" and "Thriller") countdowns on MTV as well as TRL's endless music-vid premieres were the highlight of my afternoons in front of the tube as a teen.
But now, music videos are becoming an afterthought in the marketing and exposure of artists, across the board. Dwindling budgets, lacking plot lines and fewer and fewer celebrity cameos make me wonder if the art of the music video will become as endangered as the whooping crane.
There are however 10 artists that still shelled out the loot to create great videos in 2008. In celebration, Juicy UK put together a "10 Most Expensive Videos in 2008" list this week. We decided to took it one step further, gathering all the videos for you in one glorious place ... here, duh.
So from Danity Kane to Janet Jackson, from Lil' Wayne to Lily Allen, see who made the list. Oh, and I bet you will never guess which daring diva snagged the No. 1 spot -- Madonna or Britney?
