In the final leg of last night's "Dancing With The Star's" -- that final leg joke will never get old, thank you, Heather Mills -- Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson was named the winner, and short girls everywhere sat a little taller.
Gilles "Shows His Junk" Marini and Melissa "Back Up Plan" Rycroft came in right behind the adorable winner and I'm gonna say, I was a little shocked. I mean, Olympic gymnasts have drive and motivation, but Shawn's numbers had been working against her throughout the finals.
Shawn only claimed first place one time before the finale and Gilles had come in first a total of eight times -- including the first six weeks in a row! Those hips don't lie, my friends. I said it before and I'll say it again, shame on you "DWTS." I am very angry with all of this wishy-washy contestant mumbo-jumbo. You don't see "Idol" giving Anoop some first-place trophy, now do you?
Are you sure professional athletes don't get favorable treatment on your show, "DWTS?" Out of the last eight seasons, five of the winners came from the wide world of sports: Emmitt Smith, Apolo Anton Ohno, Hélio Castroneves, Kristi Yamaguchi and now Shawn Johnson. Can't we just give some dude who likes to shower on patios and do sit-ups a reality talent-show medal?
Gilles had received more points from the judges than any star in the show's history, so that should at least get him a sash or a tiara. After the jump weigh in on your favorite from this season and check out Lady GaGas performance from last's nights finale.
