After barely surviving it's fuble-tastic second season, "Friday Night Lights" has made like the Dillon Panthers and remarkably come from behind this year. Now it looks like they're going to have to really focus on their long game because NBC just renewed the series -- for two more years!
Let's Go Dillon! Clap-clap-clap-clap-clap!
Like season three, years four and five will air on DirecTV first before coming to NBC. The interesting thing will be how fast the producers continue to cycle through the semesters, since a lot of characters -- Lyla, Tyra, Riggins, Saracen and Landry will be graduating this May.
It's been reported that Lyla and Tyra will get sendoffs next year much like Smash and Street did this season. No word yet on how the show will handle the boys -- although Riggins did get into college this season, while Saracen's future remains open ended after his grandma's truly heart wrenching tumble.
The only two actors signed to long-term contracts are Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, aka Eric and Tami Taylor. And you know what, I'd watch those two all day, every day -- so bring it "FNL!"
