I doubt anyone thought Oprah Winfrey's soon-to-launch network would be anything but a killer collection of programs, featuring everything from the globe's biggest stars to the hometown heroes. But the first trailer featuring footage from OWN's line-up exceeded even my lofty expectations.
Personally, I'm most intrigued by "Masterclass," a show that features people at the top of their field (Jay-Z, Maya Angelou) passing along their expertise through documentary-style interviews. The investigative journalism keeps coming thanks to "Our America with Lisa Ling" and "Visionaries: Inside the Creative Mind."
But if you're looking for something a little more fun, OWN's got "Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes," "Kidnapped by the Kids" and "Your OWN Show: Oprah's Search for the Next TV Star." As for celeb-fronted series, there's "Ryan and Tatum: The O'Neals," "The Judds," "The Gayle King Show, " "Finding Sarah" and "Why Not? With Shania Twain"
Check out the trailer for OWN, which launches January 1 and see if you can figure out how your Tivo will handle all these new shows.
