Although he doesn't cameo in the film itself, Ralph Macchio -- originator of The Crane Kick -- made an appearance at the premiere of 2010's "Karate Kid" last night, posed with Jaden Smith and proved that he's still the best around.
After the screening Ralph took to his Twitter to let fans know, "Remake: Different vibe, story same, bigger, more violent. Well done, but the SOUL, the MAGIC - LEGACY of the Original KK remains untouched!"
Which is definitely good news to purists, who seconded Ralph's sentiments last year, when he told PopWrap, "The reason 'Ocean's 11' worked was because no one had seen the original in 30 years! 'Karate Kid"'was on ABC Family last week. It should be interesting to see what happens, but I don't know that we'll still be talking about the remake, or doing their version of the crane kick, in 20 years. Time will tell."
Something tells me when all is said and done Daniel LaRusso will put Jaden's Dre Parker in a bodybag!
