Thanks to the advent of YouTube, being an unsigned musician is no longer tantamount to obscurity -- but that also makes it hard to find digital diamonds in the rough. Well, allow me to point your cursor towards the most exciting, inventive and shiny gem you'll discover all year: Simon Curtis.
His new album "RA" dropped today -- a day that has been both hotly anticipated and seemingly a million miles away. "'RA' is the sonic embodiment of what my life has been over the past year. To say that this is my baby is no understatement," he says.
The 14-song album is bathed in futuristic electro pop but not at the expense of true emotion, as you can feel on powerful tracks "DTM (Dead To Me)" and "Joshua."
But Simon truly excels in crafting anthems. "Laser Guns Up," "Get In Line" and "Superhero" will never fail to get gays and girls on their feet, pumping fists in unison and living his self-empowerment message.
So get those "Laser Guns Up" in the air and buy Simon's CD after giving the first "RA" track a spin!
