The winning goal came from forward Robbie Keane in the 83rd minute after iconic midfielder David Beckham - playing in his final MLS game - bent as trademark free kick around the wall that beat Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall but hit the post. Keane headed home the rebound for the game-clinching goal and LA’s second straight MLS Cup victory over Houston.
The Galaxy won the MLS Cup last year with a 1-0 victory over Houston.
In the simulation, Landon Donovan opened the scoring in the 21st on a volley off a Mike Magee cross. Houston equalized in the 65th minute when striker Will Bruin headed home a Macoumba Kandji cross. That set the stage for Keane’s winner after Christian Wilhelmsson was fouled on the edge of the Houston penalty area.
