This rectangular-cut diamond, weighing in at just under 20 carats, is now called the Clark Diamond. From Cartier, it’s “D color, which is the best, as white as they get. It is near-flawless,” says Kadakia.
The cut of the stone is “so art deco: sharp corners and an open culet. You see that black line down the center of the diamond? That is the culet, the bottom facet of the stone, and it’s open — very predominant of something done in the 1920s.”
