A 16-year-old girl was found dead in the vestibule of her aunt’s home in The Bronx yesterday.

Destiny Sanchez’s brother found her body at about 8 a.m. just inside the three-story brick house at 640 Barretto St. in Hunts Point.

“She was just sitting up . . . I was slapping her in the face, but she would not wake up,” said the brother, Keith Lopez, 15.

Keith said his sister’s clothes were blotched with bleach, and that her tongue was yellow, as if she’d been forced to swallow a chemical.

One of Destiny’s sisters, Kayla Lopez, said she tried to administer CPR.

Police confirmed they found evidence of bleach at the crime scene, and said there was no obvious trauma to Destiny’s body. They suspect the case is a homicide, but are awaiting an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.

Destiny was a ninth-grade student at the Academy for Scholarship and Entrepreneurship in Wakefield.
