50 Cent’s latest hit came from a Mack truck.
The rapper, who famously survived nine gunshots in 2000, was briefly hospitalized yesterday after a tractor-trailer rear-ended his bulletproof SUV on the Long Island Expressway.
Aston Whilby, 61, a Brooklyn truck driver, failed to brake in time when the rapper’s SUV slowed down for traffic at about 11 p.m. Monday near the Van Wyck Expressway interchange, cops said.
Whilby claimed that he lost control because his load shifted, according to 50 Cent’s Web site, thisis50.com, which posted photos of the wreck and of the hip-hop superstar on a stretcher in a neck brace (above).
Fitty’s driver, Bruce Miller, was also hospitalized and later released.
No criminality was suspected in the crash, and no summonses were issued, cops said.
“[50 Cent] was put on a stretcher and taken to the nearest Queens hospital,” the site said. “The SUV almost flipped over.”
The 36-year-old musician, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, was released from New York Hospital Queens early yesterday, according to his rep, who said Fitty suffered minor neck and back injuries.
“50 is home resting, and I’ve been told is very sore,” said the spokeswoman, Keesha Johnson.
Jackson’s grandmother Beulah Jackson said her grandson was rattled.
“He didn’t receive any injuries. He’s just shaken up,” she told The Post outside her Valley Stream, LI, home.
Jackson was riding in the SUV with Miller and an assistant, Chad Taylor, who was not injured and who snapped the photos posted on the Web site, said Johnson.
