A serial groper was sentenced to 25 years to life yesterday after telling a judge to “do what you want.”
“You can give me more if you want,” Greg Poirier, 39, told Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Cassandra Mullen after she handed down her tough sentence for his frightening attack on a woman returning home to her Lower East Side apartment in 2008.
His lawyer, Hershel Katz, told him Mullen couldn’t give him any more. “That’s the maximum,” he said.
Poirier, a Native American with chest-length black hair, is about halfway through a five-year sentence for a string of similar attacks in 2009, in which he would accost women from behind and molest them.
The Canadian Poirier told the judge he felt railroaded by the US justice system.
“I’m a poor Indian. Give me 25 to life, anything you want. I’m going to appeal anyway,” he said, shaking his head. “Wow, man. This is America.”
