“Magic Mike” has cast a spell on New York women — with his thong.
Female film fans flocked to city movie theaters yesterday to catch the racy new male-stripper flick, in which Matthew McConaughey and Channing Tatum star as male exotic dancers who gyrate in barely-there leather skivvies.
“It was all for the bodies,” 31-year-old gal Sam Birenbaum said after seeing an early showing at the Loews 19th Street theater. “Everyone loves a good six-pack.”
The movie opened yesterday after impressive ticket pre-sales, delighting throngs of thong-loving ladies who were hot to get a glimpse of some rippling beefcake.
Outside the 19th Street Loews cinema in the Flatiron District, 25-year-old Jennifer Hartman said, “It’s naked men — and that’s always entertaining.”
A number of filmgoers said it was nice to flip the script on men and be the gawkers instead of the gawked.
“It’s just kind of funny to turn it around on them,” 19-year-old Caroline Hafer said outside the Times Square megaplex.
