Jess’ girl: Maxwell

Loopy Jessica Simpson yesterday welcomed a baby girl — and gave her the curious name Maxwell Drew Johnson.

The oddball boy’s name for a daughter seemed to fit the ditzy star, famous for once questioning why Chicken of the Sea’s tuna wasn’t chicken.

The kid’s middle moniker also seems head-scratching, because it’s the name of Simpson’s former brother-in-law, Drew Lachey.

After Maxwell was born in LA, Simpson, 31, wrote on her Web site, “We are so grateful for the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!”

She is engaged to Eric Johnson, a former San Francisco 49er.
