BuzzYour Fix of Who, What, When and Wear

Mama's BoyPeter Brant Jr. made waves this winter when he was spotted getting cozy with his supermodel mom on a St. Barts beach. Weird? He gave us the scoop.

In February, Stephanie told Oprah that the St. Barts photos had been misinterpreted. "In the past two years … I gained a lot of weight … so I spent two days indoors [on vacation], and when I finally decided to just go outside, my son was so happy to see me. He was wooing me and gave me a big hug and a kiss."

At New York Fashion Week last month, a nervous Peter Brant Jr. made his way down the G-Star red carpet, clad in a slim camel overcoat. His skittishness was understandable. The 17-year-old son of supermodel Stephanie Seymour and billionaire Peter Brant was thrust into the spotlight in early January when oddball photos emerged of him appearing to cavort on a St. Barts beach with an older woman. Most disturbingly, the older woman was his 42-year-old mom. Apart from a brief online missive where he revealed he's part of an "intimate" family and is "openly gay," Brant Jr. had not yet spoken to reporters about the ensuing media firestorm. But in an exclusive interview with Page Six Magazine, the teen maintained he has nothing to apologize for. "Something that was three seconds in rapid-fire photography looks like ten minutes. It's out of context and it's silly," he says, blushing. "A lot of people were angry I didn't stay quiet and that I defended myself.

I was insulted [by the controversy], my mother was insulted and I didn't think it was right to not say anything."

And what did Brant's very hot mom think of the hubbub? "There were mixed reactions from my family," admits Brant Jr.  "I think we could've handled it a little bit differently, but it all worked out."

When I'm 64

Despite her recent reported hook-up with comic Judah Friedlander, Susan Sarandon and Jonathan Bricklin, 32, her partner in the Flatiron District ping-pong club SPiN, seem to be heating up. More than a year after 64-year-old Sarandon's split from Tim Robbins, the new couple appear to have a regular date night at West Village dive Ear Inn. At first, says a waitress there, "I thought she was his mother." Other nightcrawlers say they're clearly more than close friends.

According to one, the coy pair "were having a very dignified canoodle" at the Sergio Davila afterparty at Soho's James hotel last month. "They were tucked in the corner next to a painting made to look like an eye chart that has the hidden message 'I know you want to F--K.' " Still, Bricklin won't confirm or deny his boyfriend status, telling Page Six Magazine he had no comment. "It's sweet there's interest in more of a story, but I'd prefer to keep under the radar as much as possible."
