The one and only Jimmy Shields pitched one and only one inning last night in Boston, and that one was enough to cause Hondo's earnings to tumble to 380 hartungs.
Tonight, it's back to Lincecum, Mr. Aitch's stable stalwart of late. Ten units on the Giants.
There were a couple of confusing omens this week concerning Big Brown's Triple Crown fate tomorrow: 1) Astronauts at the space station were able to fix their toilet, which can mean only one thing: If you take Big Brown, you're going down; 2) The NY State Senate approved a bill that would give greater incen tive for dog owners to pick up after their pooches by raising fines from $100 to $250. The obvious inter pretation: If you take Big Brown, you'll clean up.
