SAN ANTONIO - Becky Hammon scored 27 points against her former team and Sophia Young added 23 as the Silver Stars won their fifth straight game with a 83-79 victory over the Liberty last night.
It's the third time in as many games that Hammon has topped the Silver Stars in scoring when meeting the Liberty.
Ann Wauters added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Silver Stars, who matched their season-best winning streak.
San Antonio is 10-0 at home and 7-0 against Eastern Conference teams. The Silver Stars, winners of 10 of their last 12, are a game ahead of Los Angeles in the Western Conference.
The Liberty were led by Shameka Christon's 27 points. Tiffany Jackson came off the bench and added 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting in 20 minutes.
The Liberty led 59-58 with 8:21 to go. It was 62-62 when the Silver Stars scored 10 straight points.
