LIBS CAN'T LOOK AHEAD

This is what is commonly referred to as a trap game in football. The Liberty (11-9) host Washington tonight (7:30, MSG) in the Garden. So far, they have owned the Mystics, blowing them out, 79-60, earlier this season.

The Liberty are coming off an emotional win over Detroit when they rallied from 18 down to score a 74-64 win and followed that with an impressive road win at Connecticut, 77-71. After tonight's game against Washington (8-12), the WNBA world turns its eyes to New York for Saturday's historic game against the Indiana Fever, which will be played at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing.

It is the first professional basketball game to be played outdoors in the U.S. So don't be surprised if the Liberty, though it could post its first three-game win streak of the season, comes out flat tonight.
