It's all about the Bennys, baby.

The foot-in-mouth mayor of Belmar, NJ, Ken Pringle, yesterday apologized to beach-lovin' guidos and bottle blondes and what he called "Bennys" - a slightly derogatory Garden State term for New Yorkers.

Sporting a Yankees cap in a nod of forgiveness - and pandering - to Big Apple sun worshipers who keep his town in the dough, Pringle said he had no clue what firestorm he'd caused by insulting the Staten Islanders who flock to his tourist-trapping seaside burg every summer.

"Well, you can only imagine," Ken Pringle told The Post as he proved his elitist views and snatched up his home-delivered New York Times on his front step.

Pringle apologized for recent comments in an official town newsletter ripping "guidos," blondes and "Bennys."

"I certainly never meant to offend all Staten Island women, much less the entire population of Staten Island. I apologize for any offense I caused," he wrote Friday in his newsletter, aimed at encouraging summer visitors to behave.
