A month after a divorce judge compared him to "a spouse," Jim McGreevey's longtime beau has made a doting parental move and asked to send the gay former governor's daughter to a fancy private school, according to court documents.
Wealthy financier Mark O'Donnell, who shares his a $1.3 million New Jersey manse with McGreevey, said he wants to foot the bill for "an exclusive private secondary school" for Jacqueline, his partner's 6-year-old daughter with ex-wife Dina Matos.
O'Donnell's offer was disclosed in a letter filed Friday in Union County Family Court by McGreevey lawyer Stephen Haller, who called it "an incredibly generous gesture."
In the McGreevey's divorce decision last month, Superior Court Judge Karen Cassidy ruled that O'Donnell holds a "role very similar to a spouse," and noted that O'Donnell has long been paying Jacqueline's medical bills and other expenses.
