CLASHING GOOD

Page Six Photo

October 10, 2008 --

GOOD thing the Clash broke up years ago, because they'd probably be playing Vegas and sipping champagne had they carried on. In next month's Relix, veteran publicist Susan Blond, who did press for the bad boys of punk, recalls one night when Joe Strummer admitted he'd lost his anarchic sense of rebellion after a night of lavish partying. She recalls: "At the end of the night, he said, 'I did the three things I hated the most: I rode in a limousine, hung out with Andy Warhol and went to Studio 54 - and I had the greatest time.' " A new album, "The Clash: Live at Shea Stadium," recorded on Oct. 13, 1982, hits stores this week.
